About Us

The Founder

Anthony Avery is the founder of The LyfeHouse, a sober living community built on faith, resilience, and second chances. His journey to creating The LyfeHouse began with his own path of transformation — a story of overcoming adversity, rediscovering purpose, and finding meaning in helping others rebuild their lives. After years of working in the behavioral health field as a Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS), Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS), and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Anthony witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by men leaving treatment programs. Many returned to unstable environments with little support or structure, making sustained recovery an uphill battle.

His approach emphasizes accountability, encouragement, and genuine care — principles that have become the foundation of The LyfeHouse.

The LyfeHouse in Dallas–Oak Cliff offers a structured, family-like environment for men in early recovery. The program is designed to guide residents toward independent living. Its approach is built on accountability, encouragement, and care. The organization's philosophy, based on the founder's lived experience, is that recovery involves rebuilding a meaningful life beyond just staying clean. It serves as a supportive resource for men transitioning back into society and seeking a new beginning.

Community Support is Vital

After leaving treatment, some of our men arrive with little more than the clothes they wear—often without financial means for sober housing. Your donations make a difference. Contributions to The LyfeHouse go directly toward our Scholarship Program, which provides rent assistance, food, and essential toiletries for residents in need.
